Member Locals

The Federation of Post-Secondary Educators is British Columbia’s largest union working exclusively for educators in the post-secondary education sector. FPSE is a federation of local unions and currently represents over 10,000 individual faculty and staff in public colleges, university-colleges, institutes and agencies, as well as in the private sector.

FPSE has nineteen member locals, each with its own autonomous, democratic structure. Member locals have elected executives. Most locals also have elected officers with paid time release for union business and providing grievance handling, bargaining, and other member advocacy services. Some locals employ their own support staff. Local Collective Agreements are available online.

Presidents of each local are members of FPSE’s Presidents’ Council.
